Winner of the open space planning competition ‘Oberbillwerder – Central Axis and Fleet Square in Bergedorf’

Competition

On March 24th 2025, the jury, chaired by Prof. Anna Lundqvist, unanimously selected three winners. Prior to this, the competition entries were displayed in a public exhibition on March 23rd. Here, around 120 visitors were able to get an idea of the planned developments and comment on the designs. The jury was then informed of the results.

The results of the three top-ranked landscape architecture firms will be on display at the IBA DOCK from 23 to 30 April 2025.

The central axis will be the heart of Oberbillwerder

It begins at the Allermöhe S-Bahn station and extends deep into the new district as a lively space, continuing on to Fleetplatz in Neuallermöhe. Various transport and urban planning aspects will come together intensively along this axis. The aim is to promote a vibrant public life while improving the district’s transport links. The new open space will be versatile and offer a high quality of life, while also helping to adapt to climate change. In addition to the central axis, Fleetplatz in Neuallermöhe will be redesigned. This is intended to improve the quality of life and functionality of the square and create an attractive transition to the central axis.
